LAND TRUST
The Salt River Pima Maricopa Indian Community will lease a 1 mi2 plot to growing neighboring suburbs. This design proposes a land trust and shared tourism revenue, to subsidize high-density sustainable development on the north end, and a nature preserve on the southern end. Symbolizing the tribal value of stewardship for future generations, the site zones are marked by large pillars, whose ephemeral artwork is designed to decompose and be replaced every 7-10 years.
