XERISCAPE: RESIDENTIAL ZEN
With a large, walled yard hosting a family with two teenage daughters - and parents - needing their own “zen” space, this design created multiple views from the house interior, and subtly defined exterior areas as flexible and small, secluded gatherings. Applying a xeriscape plant selection, the site installed a breeze wall for a semi-enclosed private front patio, a stepped deck at the eastern perimeter wall, and bioswale to harvest rainwater across the site to the garden area.
